This is a good entry for a trip "outside" which comes in at Baby Beach or behind the Esso Club. Current is always present, so it is more fun to swim with the current. The coral and fish life beyond the drop off is still pristine; the shallow reef has a lot of storm damage. Visibility will often be 80-100'; it can be as low as 50'. Many open water species frequent the deeper reef. I grew up in a house overlooking this area; this is home to me.

The reef is an easy swim from the shore, a long-shore current is usually present, so plan your dive around that. The deep reef is pristine and is a nursery for many parrotfish and yellowtail snapper.

I grew up in Aruba and lived in a house overlooking this beach; making many dives here from the 1950s. The shallow reef has been storm damaged since I lived there, but the deep reef for scuba is relatively pristine with good coral growth. A current is always present; plan your dive accordingly.

I lived in Aruba for 20 years and grew up very close to this reef. We used it as an exit point from swimming around Colorado Point, and as an entry point to drift dive and come in behind the Esso Club.
