BEWARE:THIS IS NOT A DIVE SITE. My dive buddy and I, both experienced divers, followed the recommendations on this website which proved to be dangerous at best. Access requires a hike across the top of the dead reef in full dive gear to a point where you can actually swim. After the hike across the reef and not twisting an ankle we got into water deep enough to drop down. Max depth was about 16 feet and the site is a wasteland, no coral, minimal fish, and algae on everything. Between the surge and the waves it was not fun, very difficult, and dangerous. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND AT ANY SKILL LEVEL. EVERY local diver has advised me that Koloa Landing boat ramp is the only really shore dive in Kauai.
