Snorkeling and Scuba Diving at Egmont Marina Resort
This is another fine entry to the Sechelt Inlet, and an ideal place to camp for the night. Check-in with the marina, and discuss your dive plans with them. They'll have plenty of recommendations for you!
At the North end of the Sechelt Peninsula, just South of the Earls Cove Ferry, take Egmont Road East for 9km. Turn left on Maple Road, and travel for a short distance until the sign below.

The reef to the left of the marina was full of life. Lots of fish, anemones, sea slugs. (aka Spikey things, squishy things, floaty things, flappy things). Harbour seals are happy to play with you and swim with you. They're interested in what you're doing. Sea Lions were farther out to the middle of the channel and came in when we were in the deeper waters, very curious. The locals said they will chew on your lines or nibble your arms. Diving in a dry suit, I was happy that they weren't *that* interested in us. It was mating season, so also happy they were not *that* interested in us. Fall (late October) there were few boaters, calm sunny warm weather and 20-30ft visibility. We went out an hour after high tide. 2hr after high tide the visibility dropped, and 3 hr after it was clear again. To the right was less vegetation and different animals where you find a clean red rocky bottom with the normal invertebrates. I will definitely come back. It was super fun to interact with the wildlife.
